CH8001 - Introduction to Business Mandarin/Chinese – Level 1(8 weeks)
The course is suitable for students who have no background in Mandarin. The purpose of the course is to provide students with basic foundation of Mandarin starting Han Yu PinYin, pronunciation, simple characters and basic conversation skills needed to function successfully in everyday business conversation. In this level, you will study how to initiate or respond basic conversations in business activities such as greetings, introductions, exchanging business cards, go through the customs, checking in a hotel, banking (Open an account & Currency Exchange), and etiquette at a banquet, and also comprehend China-Western cultural differences and the Chinese business etiquette. This program is a foundation for you to enter into the following two programs: CH8002 – Advanced Level and CH8003 – Expert Level.
What is included in the CH8001 – Introduction to Business Mandarin:
- 1. Introduction into the Chinese language
- 2. How to do business in China
- 3. Chinese phonetics, Chinese character pronunciation, phrases and expressions
- 4. Chinese character writing, etymology, grammar and syntax
- 5. 400+ Most frequently used Chinese characters and usage
- 6. Multiple practically-used situational dialogue
- 7. Introduction into Business etiquette education, Chinese history, traditions and customs
- 8. Western-Chinese cultural differences comparison and analysis
- 9. Team-work with your partner to practice Chinese learning
