Description:
The CCNA certification holders have a foundation in and working knowledge of networking, including skills to install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.
The CCNA course will prepare you to take exam for the CCNA certification. The CCNA(640-801) provides materials on:
- Interconnection Cisco Network Devices (ICND)
- Introduction to Cisco Networking Technologies (INTRO)
- Extending Switched Networks with VLANS,
- IP Routes, Managing IP traffic with Access Lists,
- Establishing Point-to-Point connections,
- Establishing Frame Relay Connections,
- Cisco IOS router for network connectivity,
- Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco routers connected in local-area networks (LANs) and wide-area networks (WANs,)
- Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) seven-layer model concepts.
Audience:
The class is recommended to individuals seeking an understanding and knowledge of networking fundamentals. At the end of the course you will be able to select, connect, configure, and troubleshoot the various Cisco networking devices.
Duration: 5 days.
Course Objective:
Structure and definitions of the layers of the OSI model.
Data communications transmission method (serial/parallel) – characteristics.
A point-to-point Ethernet LAN.
IP Protocol operations.
Ethernet LAN/LAN Environment.
Network addressing scheme.
TCP or UDP and IP application.
Technology in a WAN environment.
Configure a Catalyst switch.
Configure and troubleshoot Virtual LANs (VLANs.)
Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF.)
Configure serial interfaces using PPP and High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC.)
Configure Frame Relay.
Configure DDR between two routers with Basic Rate interface (BRI) or Primary Rate Interface (PRI.)
Prerequisite:
Basic computer literacy
Basic knowledge of PC hardware configurations
Basic understanding of networking business drivers
Exams:
Students must pass the 640-801 CCNA exam to be CCNA certified
